Back pain and what you can do about it

Are you experiencing back pain? Here are some short and long-term strategies for relief*...

Short-term:
1. Breath practice
2. Walk (as much as your back can tolerate)
3. Eat well and hydrate
4. Passive treatments (no movement involved or someone does the moving for you - massage, chiro, therapy, accu, ice, heat, stim, sauna, cold plunge, etc)
5. Adequate SLEEP (the best supplement and anti-inflammatory on the market!)

Long-term:
6. Continue short-term practices
7. Active treatments (you provide your own treatment through movement - stretch, self massage, strength train, swim, cycle, yoga, etc)
8. Lose excess body fat
9. Anti-core training
10. Mobilize the hips/shoulders/ankles

*See your doctor, then a chiropractor and/or a physical therapist before beginning an intensive exercise program. Imaging, medications, and surgery are a last resort, but are sometimes necessary. Be smart. If you can’t walk, go to the bathroom, or perform simple activities, seek help!
